​The organisation of the Islamic Architecture Symposium 2026 coincided with the main objective of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition, MYCE 2026, to promote and increase activities in the form of knowledge sharing, brainstorming, sharing new discoveries and increasing networking activities among local and foreign scholars. The Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry said the theme of the symposium, 'Barakah Dalam Bangunan: Amalan Seni Bina dan Kelestarian di Negara Brunei Darussalam' is in line with the current needs where the world not only needs rapid development, but principled development with identity that brings lasting benefits. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin made the speech while officiating the Islamic Architecture Symposium 2026. It took place at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, 10th June morning.

The symposium included a keynote presentation titled 'Barakah- Guiding Architecture Beyond Form' delivered by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin, from Eco Bumi and Partners, and Chairman of Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Arkitek, PUJA.

Held until the 14th of June, the symposium is organised by Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Development as well as Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University and Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
